Agreed

I agree. 2.5 weeks is entirely too long to let this blog sit idle.

But if you're curious, my journal has been left idle as well. It's not like all kinds of stuff is happening and I'm just forgetting to tell you.

But a few things that ARE happening.

April 19th I'm traveling to SC to sing at my friend's wedding. So excited for Katie! And excited that living in Florida has allowed me an easier opportunity to not only attend, but BE in her wedding. :-)

And June. Oooooh June. I'll be running my first 1/2 marathon. In San Diego.

Yup. I registered. I bought new shoes. I've been training. And I'm loving it! (MINUS the guy who said with a disbelieving expression on his face "Are you in SHAPE for that?!" Grrrr.) There's a REASON I'm TRAINING.  Anywho. Putting the soapbox away.

I had a birthday. And it was a sweet day.

I went to Tampa and had a glorious visit with my friend Helen.

And the past 5 days, I've been immensely homesick. (Please do not allow this comment to cause alarm or a need to worry.....It's just a fact. I'm homesick.) I want to see my friends in Dallas. I want to go to my church....I miss walking into that building and feeling at home. I need a hug from my mom and dad.

I'm approaching my 6 month mark of being in Tallahassee. Still LOVEEEE my job. Actually, I think I love it more now than I did in the beginning. I'm feeling as though I'm finally learning to speak the same language as those here in the office. I'm getting it. It feels much more comfortable. My coworkers are beyond amazing. (And I'm not just saying that because there is a small chance they might read this.) I truly do feel that way :-)

So there is the update.

Yay.

Ten. Years.

Grew up in a small town - And when the rain would fall down - I'd just stare out my window - Dreaming of what could be - And if I'd end up happy - I would pray Trying hard to reach out - But when I tried to speak out - Felt like no one could hear me - Wanted to belong here - But something felt so wrong here - So I prayed I could break away I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly - I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky - I'll make a wish - Take a chance - Make a change - And breakaway - Out of the darkness and into the sun - But I won't forget all the ones that I love - I'll take a risk - Take a chance - Make a change - And breakaway ( Kelly Clarkson, Breakaway ) 10 years ago, this month, I graduated from Prairiland High School. (And yes, I spelled that right- according to our school, anyways.) At times I can't really wrap my mind around that particular thought...

Saturday Morning

I have a play list on my iPod titled "Saturday Morning Cleaning." When my sisters and I were growing up, Saturday morning was spent cleaning. No questions asked. Bottom line. Purple suit and all. Oh wait. You don't know about the purple suit. I'll explain further down. We'd get to sleep in until mom and dad deemed enough, at which point they would turn on the stereo system and play praise and worship music and come wake us up. Mom or dad would have cooked us a breakfast of either pancakes, eggs, waffles, bacon, or breakfast tacos (a treat, considering M-F was normally cereal, oatmeal, etc) and on the table would be "The List" Sometimes we'd get "The List" before breakfast and sometimes after. Because, really....who wants to ruin a perfectly good breakfast with "The List." (I have to interject, even as I'm writing this...I'm just remembering how incredible my childhood was. Seriously. I had the best childhood a ...

The one with the Half Marathon

You knew it was coming. The POST Half Marathon Post. I admit. If I were you, I'd be thinking right about now "ENOUGH WITH ALL THE HALF MARATHON TWEETS/FACEBOOK POSTS/ETC." And part of me apologizes. The other part of me wants to blog about it. So I'll meet you half way. I'll apologize, and then I'll blog about the Rock and Roll San Diego Half Marathon.  And then that will be it. :-) After landing in San Diego, I was greeted by 68 degree weather, gorgeous views, and FAMILY!!!!  My aunt/uncle/cousin/sister picked me up from the airport and of course, Caralyn and I immediately began taking pictures. :-) We walked around Little Italy for just a bit before making it to our reservations at an incredible place called Indigo Grill.  It was unbelievably awesome. We started the night off with a bottle of Rock and Roll wine, pecan crusted Brie cheese, and great conversation. We had all agreed we wanted to try to stay on East coast time as much as possib...
