End of an era?

Haven't posted in a while. Haven't wanted to. Thinking it might be time to shut this blog down. I started thinking about blogs that I, personally, like to read. I like to read blogs that I can walk away from with a piece of good information. Blogs that offer good information, tips, how-to suggestions, pictures.... My blogs are all about me and my life and honestly- I'm tired of that. If this blog could be turned into something 'good'.....anyone have suggestions? Read an article today of a girl who has lots to offer. Seriously. She writes fabulously and has an area of expertise. My only area of expertise is ME. And that, my friends, is rather boring. If I can come up with a fun new theme or idea for the blog, I may keep it going. Otherwise, I see it going down the drain pretty soon.

How Can It Be?!

Happy 6 months to me. I've officially been out of Texas 6 months and survived. I seriously can not believe it's been 6 months. Some days it feels as though it's been 6 years (on the days I miss my family a lot) and some days it feels as though it's been 6 weeks. Either way, I love my job and continually reminded that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. Happy 6 months, Florida. We did it.

Just in case we forget

Easter is NOT about: -how many people attend your church service -what your Easter clothes look like -how fancy of a hat you can find -what songs we sing -the lights/graphics/tech arts creativity -the special guest artists -the egg hunt -what you'll have for Easter lunch -a person dressed up as a dang bunny, which honestly, I find completely creepy -how well the pastor speaks Easter IS about this: An empty tomb. The fact that death had no hold on Jesus and the grave couldn't keep Him down. It's about the fact that God sent HIS SON to Earth to live among His people. A perfect life. A sinless life. All for one reason. To go to the cross in our place. To bear our sins. He was beaten, whipped, and crucified. Because someone had to pay the price. We, as sinful people, would never be able to pay our debt of sin. But a perfect Son could. He came and took our place. He made a way for us to have access to the Father. And while He died on the cross for our sin, He

Easter teeth. Wait, what?

2008. Saturday night before Easter Sunday. I was searching for an Easter dress. For no reason other than the fact I'd always had a new outfit for Easter Sunday. I'd tried on dress after dress. None of them were working. Finally, at 10pm (at Target), I gave up my search for a dress. Instead, I bought a $7 tube of toothpaste. Not really sure my logic but all I could remember thinking was "If I can't have a new dress, my teeth are gonna look awesome." And 2008 was my first Easter without a new dress. Contemplating going in search of a new outfit for this weekend. The thought of new workout clothes sounds better.  Stay posted. We'll see what happens. Who knows, I just may end up with awesome teeth again.

It is finished!

The 5K was awesome. Both prayers were answered. I finished the run....AND I didn't wet my pants. YAY ;-)
